The territory of Sarzana presents, as regards the geological
aspect, two main morphologies: a flat country (interested with alluvial deposits
and not) and a hill country (with clayey-calcareous and sandstone formations).
Its total surface is of 34 squarekilometres.
The minumum altitude is at Marinella with 0 m. above the sea level while the
maximum one is the top of Boscoleto mountain at 590 m. above the sea level.

- Groppo mountain 317 m. a.s.l
- Falchetto mountain 300 m. a.s.l.
- Grosso mountain 225 m. a.s.l.
- Darma mountain 163 m. a.s.l.
- Fortress 100 m. a.s.l.
- Paterno 86 m. a.s.l.
- Belvedere 65 m. a.s.l.
- Allegro mountain 54 m. a.s.l.
It
is characterized by a Mediterranean climate, a variation of the western Tyrrhene,
where, even if there’s a dry-summer period, the rainings are well-distributed
and copious from Sept. to May and a large part of June.
The territory is characterized by the “Fluvial Park of Magra and Montemarcello” and
there is also a natural oasis in the area called “Bozi”.
Its woodland is about 1500 hectares. The territory is washed
by the river Magra and by the followings steams:
- Amola
- Calcandola
- Turì
- Isolone
- San Michele
- Albachiara
- Parmignola
There is also the spring water “Governo” at Piazza
of Falcinello.
The watering comes from wells (in the flat part) and from spring waters (in
the hill one).
